Back in 2018 after a relationship break down, Mike became a single father to Cody (2) and Lara (3 months). Mike didn't know how to cook so every meal was a learning curve. 

Times got hard, Universal Credit had just been rolled out and there was a 6 week wait for new benefits to come through so it was a tough couple of months.  Mike, Cody and Lara then resorted to food bank kits. 

These kits are full of items that can be put together to make lots of meals, but unless you already know how to make these meals, you're pretty screwed.

So Mike thought, this is a perfect time to help his own mental health by channeling his energy into something productive, to have some bonding time with his son, learn how to cook and also show his family the silly cooking stuff they get up to. 

So, Cooking with Cody was born.
